I really like this restaurant, the staff and chef are so kind and accommodating. Does anyone know why they have been closed for the past few months. During the pandemic they closed for several years.

***Quick Service, Very Affordable, Decent Seating*** If you're looking for a tasty, cheap, vegetarian meal, I highly recommend checking this place out. You'll spend roughly $10 or so for a filling meal. The service is quick, and there is enough seating for a walk-in.

Only learned about Jisu tonight, will definitely return soon. The Eight Inmortals are a fine choice if you'd like to combine vegetables impersonating meat and those maintaining their original form. The faux pork belly was a standout, and the potatoes were surprisingly compelling.

Jisu was my last veg stop of my trip and they packed a wonderful bentou box set for my flight back home to the Bay Area. They are a wonderful vegan friendly restaurant near Chinatown that offers a variety of dishes, some of which utilize mock meats. I ordered a Vegan Abalone lunch set ($11) which came with brown rice, picked raddish, steamed veggies, a nice serving of their mock abalone, and even some potatoes and cha-shu. My box was nicely prepared and very good. Veggies tasted fresh and I enjoyed the way they prepared the abalone. On my flight, it was the perfect portion size to keep me satisfied until I landed back in CA. I will definitely be back in the future to try out more of their boxes.

While my reg veg place is busy and overcrowded, I took my date here. We ordered E1, fried rice, vegan roll, and Vegetable Noodle Soup. All were delicious. I love that they used brown rice in the fried rice. This could possibly replace my reg veg spot. Keep up the good work.

Really cute spot with a fully vegetarian/vegan menu. Tasty chili sauce served with all food. The menu was pretty simplistic, but tasted homemade and fresh. The sesame "Chick'n" tasted like like texture of the puffed sweet and sour chicken but still was great! Very unique style of cooking and flavor. Highly recommend vegan folks stop by and try!

Best vegan Chinese food of my life, I will leave New York an enlightened person. I would seriously move to New York just to eat this again in my life. As a child in 5th grade I decided to be a vegetarian, and I had to watch friends and family eat orange chicken and be jealous because I couldn't find a replacement. Well that sad period of my life has ended because I have eaten at Jisu Vegetarian. The VERY best vegan orange chicken ever, made from a special mushroom the owner showed me. Also spring roll was crunchy and delicious. This place truly had a mark on me. I am surprised I wrote this much because I truly have no words for how good it was. Update: 1 year anniversary has passed since I went to this restaurant. Sometimes I think about the food and also the wonderful staff, I hope they are doing well. I cannot wait to come back again. Please go if you are in nyc.

The specialty worth trying here is definitely their soups. It's the traditional herbal medicine soups I really miss from my childhood. Typically they're made with some type of meat as an additional supplement in these nourishing soups but most people don't know you don't HAVE to have the meat in it. So I'm really happy they had a good array of these herbal medicine soups and they taste great! It's also a very reasonable price. Everything else on the menu tbh is mostly mock meats. So I think the soup is the most worth trying.
